West Pottsgrove Township was established in 1900 and took its area from Upper Pottsgrove Township. Our small township is situated in part on the Schuylkill River and in terms of location, is the westernmost municipality in Montgomery County Pennsylvania.
Although a separate governmental entity, West Pottsgrove is an integral part of the Greater Pottstown area (this includes Pottstown Borough, Lower, Upper and West Pottsgrove Townships, and several bordering municipalities in Chester and Berks Counties). Learn more.
The Stowe portion of the township is serviced by public water and sewer facilities. A full-time police force serves the township. Fire protection is provided by volunteer companies. Residential trash disposal is provided by private haulers who are contracted by the township. Learn more.
